Rebecca Wuu, a native of Fremont, California, is a pianist, music teacher, and audio engineer. She graduated from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and Recording Arts and a Master of Arts in Audio Sciences. In May of 2021 Rebecca completed her Master of Music Degree at Mannes in New York under the tutelage of Professor Eteri Andjaparidze. She is currently a DMA candidate at Stony Brook University in the studio of Gilbert Kalish.
As an audio engineer, she has worked with world-renowned and local artists including Itzhak Perlman, Garrick Ohlssohn, the Peabody Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Marin Alsop, and the JHU Vocal Chords. She was an audio engineer at the Brevard Summer Music in 2014 and an intern at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley, CA in 2015. At the Peabody Conservatory, Rebecca studied piano with Yong Hi Moon. Her previous teachers include Hans Boepple and Jed Galant. She has played in master classes by Jon Nakamatsu, John Perry, and Ruth Sleczynska. She has performed across the U.S., Italy, and China. Rebecca has been teaching piano since 2013, and has taught students in Baltimore, California, and New York. She enjoys working with young kids through adult students. She is currently a faculty member at the Bronx Conservatory of Music. Her students participate in competitions and have placed in events such as the American Piano competition and the US International Music Competition. Outside of music, Rebecca enjoys running outdoors, hiking, knitting, and sewing. |
